Privacy Policy

The short version: we keep your lease private. We never sell it, never show it to your landlord, and never reveal anything that can be traced back to you.

1. What we collect

Your lease (PDF, image, or text), a plain-text transcription of it, and the terms we extract from it: names, address, rent, dates, deposits, fees, and clauses. The file itself is deleted within 24 hours; the transcription and terms are kept.
Contact details: the email address you give us and any additional addresses you ask us to notify.
Optional unit details you add, such as bedrooms, square footage, or notes.
Emails you send us at review@leaseammo.com, including attachments, when you use that route.
Basic technical data such as IP address and browser type, in server logs.

You acknowledge that a lease contains personally identifiable information (PII) and that you are providing it to us knowingly so we can deliver the service.

2. How we use it

To read your lease and build your report, deal score, and negotiation playbook.
To send you the reminders you chose, at the addresses you chose.
To compare your rent with market data and with anonymized data from other tenants.
To find comparable rentals, which may involve sending the property address and unit description to third-party data and AI providers under contract with us.

3. What other tenants can see

By submitting a lease you agree to anonymous sharing with your building. Tenants who upload a lease for the same building see an anonymized row: bedroom and bathroom count, approximate square footage, monthly rent, and lease dates. They never see your name, email, unit number, signature, or document. We do not display a row when it could reasonably identify you, and we will never reveal information that can be tracked back to you. To opt out of sharing, email hello@leaseammo.com.

4. What we never do

Sell or rent your personal information.
Share your lease or identity with your landlord or property manager.
Send marketing email you did not ask for.

5. Service providers

We use cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), an AI model provider (Anthropic) to read leases and draft guidance, and email delivery services. Each processes data only to provide our service and is bound by its own privacy commitments. Your document is transmitted to the AI provider to be read; it is not used to train their models under our agreement.

If your mail app does not open when you send the renewal email, we offer a link that opens Gmail or Outlook.com instead. Following that link hands your address and the draft to that provider, because they travel in the link itself. Nothing is sent until you click it, and copying the email sends it nowhere.

6. Retention and deletion

The file you upload is deleted within 24 hours of upload, automatically. Before it goes we read it once and keep two things: the terms we extracted (rent, dates, deposits, fees, clauses) and a plain-text transcription of the document, so your report, your reminders, and any amendment you send later keep working without the file. Those stay through the end of your lease term so we can remind you in time and show you your history.

Email hello@leaseammo.com from the address on the account and we will delete the transcription, extracted terms, report, and account within 30 days. Anonymized building rows are removed with it.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored on access-controlled servers, and reachable only through private report links. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you.

8. Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, turn off sharing, or delete everything. Residents of California and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have additional rights, which we honor for everyone.

9. Children

LeaseAmmo is for adults who sign leases. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and email account holders.
