How we get these numbers
Each page is what apartments list for in that city, Seattle district or Seattle neighborhood: median asking rent by bedroom count, the price spread, rent per square foot, and how far apart the same floor plan is listed. Outside Washington, a metro's pages are its principal cities. Asking rents, not signed leases, from listings collected Sep 7–Oct 17, 2026, in 8 collections, updated every two weeks.
Figures in brackets are the number of listed 1 bedrooms behind each median. A place gets a page once its listings clear the floor in the method. The monthly reports add charts and data to download: every report.
Paying rent in Seattle? Is my rent too high? checks it against these listings, and the Seattle rent calculator shows what each neighborhood and bedroom count lists for. Or see it on the rent map. Weighing a renewal offer anywhere we cover? Renew or move: the calculator.
